Liberating yourself through your story!

When the experience of a miscarriage, abortion, or birth has been traumatizing physically and emotionally, it takes on a living breathing reality. It takes on a separate life inside you which is part of you, yet fragmented. You don’t come back from this threshold unchanged. Your identity has shifted in a moment!

As a Certified Story Listener, I am compassionate in the face of your suffering.  Deeply listening to your story promotes learning and self-discovery. This process is patient driven and helps you recognize the state your story is in and what you are holding from it. It examines how your story was created, gifts you the courage to shift unhelpful thought patterns and rewires your brain for a new perspective to hold in a tender way.

This evidence- based, best practice methodology, known as  BSM-Header LOGO      was developed by American Midwife, Birth worker and renowned author, Pam England. My mentor is Nicole Tricarico.

As a trained Doula supporting people for 20 years, I have witnessed and held space for immense experiences. I have heard many reproductive related social stories, shared with language that fits into what is socially acceptable and comfortable to talk about. These social stories are shared as complaints or sometimes, unfortunately, with competitive language and they leave out what you may not want others to hear.  Often, you are quietly blaming yourself for not having the experience go as planned. It is unhealthy to stay stuck in a social story but we live in a society that doesn’t allow us to grieve what actually happened. This has been a missing part of the conversation until now.

Reframe the Blame! You deserve to be conscious of the story you are telling. You can’t grow into who you want to be now if you don’t get supported in allowing the ‘death’ of your former self first. Story Listening offers this through deep, conscious listening without restrictions. We dive into the stories you are busy telling yourself about what happened.  You are more reactive when you have been thrown off balance by a difficult experience, feel exhausted by it and have hormones amplifying how you feel. You often don’t have the capacity for clarity as you remain stuck in the revolving door of your thoughts. Your internal messaging gets loud because society doesn’t give you permission to be out of kilter, nor to take the time you need to get your footing. Story Listening offers a moment to support you accepting the individuality of your experience, to let go of old patterns, attachments and beliefs to become who you need to be. This process will transform your relationship with yourself and point you in new directions.

Hear your story with new ears.  This is not a luxury; it’s a necessity!
